Fractional CTO. Technology leadership. AI systems. Cyber security.

I design the systems that let founders sleep at night.

I work with founders and leadership teams to shape technology strategy, strengthen execution, build practical AI capabilities, and bring cyber security and business continuity into the same conversation as growth.

Senior judgment, clear priorities, and a steady hand when the business needs more than another enthusiastic diagram.

Technology leadership shaped by real operating environments.

For more than two decades I have led technology across platforms, products, infrastructure, security, and business-critical transformation. My role has never been limited to building software alone. It has been about setting direction, making sound decisions early, aligning technology with business goals, and ensuring execution holds up when the stakes are real.

The common thread through all of it is leadership. I work at the point where business ambition, operational discipline, engineering judgment, AI adoption, and cyber security need to come together in one coherent technology agenda. That is the work of a CTO: not simply delivering systems, but creating the conditions for a business to scale with confidence.

Leadership, architecture, AI, and cyber judgement.

I work where business growth, delivery pressure, cyber security, and technology decisions all start affecting one another and need one coherent operating view.

Fractional CTO leadership

Technology direction, investment choices, delivery oversight, hiring judgment, and the kind of executive clarity that helps a company move without guessing.

Architecture for growth

Platforms that can survive scale, pivots, audits, bad requirements, and the one integration someone confidently described as simple.

AI systems that earn their keep

Applied AI, workflow automation, copilots, evaluation pipelines, and document intelligence that improve throughput rather than merely improving conference slides.

Cyber security and resilience

Risk, identity, recovery, continuity, governance, and practical security controls built into the operating model instead of stapled on the week before an audit.

A few systems I am genuinely proud to have led.

Platform leadership, secure delivery, AI operations, streaming, infrastructure, and systems that had to hold up under real use.

A student, teacher, parent, and school engagement platform

Led the technology behind a multi-sided education platform serving students, teachers, parents, and schools through assessments, progress visibility, portfolios, communication flows, and structured improvement journeys.

Multi-role platform, portals, progress visibility, engagement systems

Adaptive assessment and structured learning journeys

Directed platforms that could assess readiness, personalize pathways, support teacher development, and turn measurement into ongoing improvement rather than a one-time reporting exercise.

Assessment engines, learning flows, analytics, program orchestration

Learning management and digital programme delivery

Built and managed learning management capabilities that supported digital programmes, resource access, assignments, reporting, and guided participation across large distributed user bases.

LMS, programme delivery, reporting, content and workflow management

Large-scale audio and video streaming platforms

Oversaw platforms that had to deliver learning content, sessions, and media experiences at scale, with performance, availability, and user experience treated as core operational concerns rather than afterthoughts.

Streaming delivery, media platforms, scale, user experience, uptime

If the business needs senior technical judgment, there is a place to start.

Engagements usually begin as one of three things: a fractional CTO mandate, a technology and cyber review, or advisory around a platform, infrastructure, or AI initiative.

Direct answers for teams evaluating fractional CTO support.

This is the plain-language version of who I help, where I fit, and what kind of technology leadership work I usually take on.

What kind of companies does Dinesh Rana work with?

Usually founder-led companies, SMEs, and education or platform businesses that need senior technology leadership without rushing into a full-time executive hire.

Does he only work on testing or assessment systems?

No. Those are part of the track record, but the broader value is in platform architecture, AI systems, resilience, security, delivery leadership, and business-aligned technical judgment.

Can he help with AI initiatives as well?

Yes. The focus is on applied AI that improves workflow quality, throughput, or decision support, with sensible evaluation and operational guardrails.
